Alright, week two of this action-packed month. First up, this Thursday and Friday is the Comics Symposium of Chicago, at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I'll be moderating a panel discussion on self-publishing and distribution Thursday at 4:30, and I'll be a panelist Friday on a panel about professionalism in comics at 5:45.
Find all the information about the Symposium here.

Also, the Game Developer's Conference is happening in San Francisco this week, and Giant Robot SF has seized that opportunity to put on a show of art inspired by videogames. I have 5 framed watercolors in the show. Here are two of them:

Pop goes the gun, Covered, and so much more coming...

Hello! This month (March 2010), I'll be participating in 5 group shows, the first of which opens this weekend. It is the Covered show at Secret Headquarters in Los Angeles. It's a crazy great group of artists, making their versions of comic book covers from the past. Here's the full list of artists involved, plus my painting for the show:

Andrew Brandou, Jeffrey Brown, Albert Calleros, Coop, Ludovic Debeurme, Michael Deforge, Valerie Fletcher, Yoko Furusho, Robert Goodin, Lisa Hanawalt, Dustin Harbin, Sammy Harkham, Sam Henderson, Josh Holinaty, Patrick Kochakji, Joy Kolitsky, Joe Lambert, Bob London, Tom Neely, Ben Newman, Laura Park, Brian Ralph, Aaron Renier, M. Jason Robards, Johnny Ryan, Richard Sala, Genevieve Simms, Jeremy Tinder, Jon Vermilyea, Anthony Vukojevich, and Steven Weissman.

Also, Popgun 4 from Image Comics was released last week, and it features
my story "The Eye." The book is huge, weighing in at 512 pages. It's certainly a lot of bang for your buck. Available at most comic stores!

Two openings and an APE!

This past weekend was a busy one for me. Friday, Rotofugi showed new paintings by me and Martin Ontiveros. Saturday, GRSF showed new paintings and drawings by me and Grant Reynolds. Both shows were a hoot. Much thanks to everyone who turned out.

I also sat at the Top Shelf table at APE (the Alternative Press Expo), and had a great time chatting up comic folks and seeing old friends. Cartoonists are reliably the nicest people in the world.

I'll post some images of the shows below. Here are links to available works:

Tonight's the night! Tomorrow's the night!

Tonight, 7-10 PM, Rotofugi in Chicago. I'll be showing 35 paintings from my forthcoming graphic novel, "The Devourer of Men". The paintings are 11x17" each, on board, and each comes with a hand-made poplar shelf. Anyone who purchases a painting from this show will be personally thanked in the book upon its release!

Martin Ontiveros also has some awesome paintings!

Tomorrow, 6:30-10 PM, Giant Robot in San Francisco. I'll be showing 23 new paintings, and some collaborative drawings with Grant Reynolds. Grant also has an amazing series of drawings. Any painting of mine comes with a free little wooden head (or 2!).

I hope to see you all!
